Laptop Sound Port - Line Extensions
LSP-1
DSan Corporation offers a handy gadget for speakers giving multi-media
presentations.
The Laptop SoundPortTM (Model LSP-1) is a compact adapter than plugs into
a laptop computer speaker jack, changes the output to a line-level signal
and mates with standard XLR audio cable for connections to a house
audio system. A ground lift switch assures a hum-free interface.
Dimensions: 3.25" x 1.25" x 1" 6 oz
MSRP: $80
DSan introduces 3 new versions of the Laptop Sound Port.
LSP-2
LSP-2 offers separate mic-level balanced outputs from a stereo line-level input. Both
channels can be combined to a single mono output. An input pass-through for a headphone
monitor and a mute switch enables an audio source to be cued before being passed to a mixer
or sound system. A ground lift switch breaks the ground connection without combining the ground
lines from Left and Right channels.
LSP-3
LSP-3 is a utility DI box that accepts inputs via 1/8" stereo mini plug (typically
the outputs from a laptop computer), 1/4" lines (typcially from an instrument) and
RCA jacks (typically the line outputs from a CD or DVD player). Left, right or both
channels may be selected to exit as mic-level balanced signals via an XRL jack. LSP-3
may be customized by installing pigtail cables on both input and output sides.
LSP-4
LSP-4 is a universal audio port in an unusual package that can organize cabling and provide
clear input and output connections for non-technical users.
Accepts line level inputs from both professional and consumer devices and balances the
attenuation so that it is possible to use LSP-4 as a mixer (although this is not its intended
application). Also, accepts line-level inputs via dual 1/4" TRS jacks (typically from instruments)
as well as stereo output from a laptop computer. A monitor jack for headphones is provided
as well as a mute out switch. In addtion, LSP-4 has an onboard Bluetooth receving device that
can communicate with cell phones and/or Bluetooth-equipped MP3 players to get those audio signals
to mic level and into a house sound system.
